My Name is Jonathan David, 17 Years ago I began my career as a technician after exiting school. I began by pursuing a career in renewable energy with my first real world job as an intern. Longterm goal was to deepen my knowledge electronics and telecommunications system but somehow fate would conjure up other plans.
3 years In I got a new job with fortune 500 multinational as an instrument technician and this time true to my natural convictions i set out to become the best version of myself in that field. But I quickly found out after being thrust to lead a team that my skills exceeded just my daily routines in process automation. After meeting one of my mentors who was a reliability consultant I could clearly relate my activities with those of a reliability engineer and so I took the plunge.
Its been 8 years since i took that plunge, I became a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional In 2013, A Certified Reliability Leader in 2014, Six Sigma Green Belt in 2015, Six Sigma Black Belt in 2021, Certified Manaement Consultant in 2020. I went on to start The Maintenance Institute Africa in 2015 to promote the practice of core M & R principles because a clear gap existed. I have since moved from just learning to teaching, speaking and consulting. In the last 8 years I have taught and spoken to over 3,300 professionals across the world from Africa to the Middle East and North America. My clientelle are some of the biggest fortune 500 companies on the African continent spanning Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Power, Mining etc. And we continue to educate through our global and regional conferences.
